Bridenstine To Support The Ryan Budget
A big get for Paul Ryan. Will other Tea Party conservatives follow Bridenstine’s lead?
Congressman Jim Bridenstine supports the Ryan Budget
Washington, DC, April 9, 2014
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Congressman Jim Bridenstine on the Ryan Budget, FY2015:
The FY 2015 Republican Budget – the so-called Ryan Budget – is a political philosophy document that outlines a Republican vision of governing. While I do not agree with everything in the Ryan Budget, I will vote for it because I agree with the following policy objectives: First, it balances in 10 years. Second, it restores funding to the military. Third, it seeks to reverse regulatory excesses that have impeded economic recovery. Fourth, it makes tough decisions to reform some major entitlement programs that have created an unsustainable trajectory for national debt.
The FY2015 Ryan Budget is not dramatically different from the FY2014 proposal. The issues are essentially the same. The solutions are too. This budget calls for deeper discretionary spending cuts and faster phase-in of various policies. Therein is the most significant message: The longer we wait to move in the right direction, the more severe the correction will have to be. The time to start the move toward a balanced budget is now.
