Citywide Tulsa Town Hall Meeting Set For River Talk
Citywide Tulsa town hall meeting on river infrastructure set for Tuesday
Anyone in Tulsa interested in Arkansas River infrastructure plans is invited to attend a citywide meeting Tuesday as a followup to recent neighborhood meetings.
City Councilor G.T. Bynum said the town hall-style meeting will focus solely on a discussion about the river and river infrastructure.
“We found from going through the Improve Our Tulsa process that the more public input you can get on the front end, the better product you have on the back end,” Bynum said.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. in the Perkins Family Auditorium in the Learning Center of the OU-Tulsa Schusterman Campus at 41st Street and Yale Avenue.
A City Council task force has been examining the possibility of constructing dams in the river since December. According to the task force, it would cost approximately $162 million to build low-water dams in Sand Springs and south Tulsa/Jenks and rebuild Zink Dam in Tulsa.
