Roth: Obama’s State of the Union – an Oklahoma solution?

President Obama announced in his State of the Union address that with significant investments in our own American energy industry and infrastructure, we are poised to control our own energy future.

For as long as I can remember, American presidents have worked through the generations to wean America’s reliance off of a foreign energy supply both as a means to protect our national security interests and to provide economic and environmental benefits that are made in America. And we are well on our way.

America’s energy industry has led us to a point where we are producing more oil at home than we have in the past 15 years, according to remarks made at the State of the Union. And that is a truly remarkable feat thanks in large part to the energy pioneers that we have right here in Oklahoma.

These Oklahoma energy leaders are using technological advancements all across this country to find and recover once-thought-impossible reserves.
