2016: Tulsa GOP Announces Precinct Meetings
Republican precinct meetings start 2016 election cycle

There was a time in Oklahoma politics, and American politics in general, that precinct chairman was a position of some consequence.
Precinct chairmen kept tabs on the neighborhood, made sure their people turned out on election day and generally kept their little piece of the party machinery oiled.
Nowadays, it’s all party officials can do to find chairmen for a fraction of the county’s voting precincts.
“Precincts are the smallest political divisions and … the fundamental building block of Republican activity nationwide,” Tulsa County GOP Chairman Mike McCutchin said last week in a letter to party members.
Republican precinct meetings are Jan. 31, followed by county meetings on March 7 and the state convention on April 11.
