SRLC Announces Additional Speakers
13 Potential GOP Presidential Candidates now confirmed for the Southern Republican Leadership Conference

(Oklahoma City) – Two more potential 2016 contenders as well as a surrogate for a third have been added to the Southern Republican Leadership Conference to be held in Oklahoma City next week.

Former IRS Commissioner Mark Everson, former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore, both potential 2016 contenders, and Mrs. Janet Huckabee, a surrogate for her husband, will join an already busy schedule in Oklahoma City later this week when they address the 2,000+ conference attendees.

Everson and Gilmore bring to thirteen the number of national leaders and potential 2016 presidential candidates to confirm for the conference behind Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Lindsey Graham former Senator Rick Santorum, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Dr. Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, and Governor Rick Perry.  Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton, Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, T. Boone Pickens and U.S. Senator James Lankford will be addressing the conference as well.

SRLC Chairman Steve Fair noted, “We are excited to announce the addition of these speakers to the SRLC program. Their collective leadership experiences will round out an already impressive line-up of speakers.”

Mark Everson was the 46th Internal Revenue Service Commissioner serving from May 2003 through May 2007. Prior to his time as IRS Commissioner, Everson served in the Reagan and Bush 43 administrations in departments such as the Office of Management & Budget, the United States Information Agency and the Department of Justice. He also served President and CEO of the American Red Cross and has worked in a variety of corporate roles.

Governor Jim Gilmore served as the 68th governor of Virginia and is the President and CEO of the Free Congress Foundation, a non-profit that is committed to change that will restore the American people to a better life, and a more independent and secure future. In addition to his service as Governor, Gilmore has chaired two prominent Congressional advisory panels and is former Chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Mrs. Janet Huckabee is the wife of 2016 Republican presidential candidate and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. She served as the First Lady of Arkansas from 1996-2007 and was the Republican Party nominee for Arkansas Secretary of State in 2002. She is the mother of three and a graduate of John Brown University.

The Southern Republican Leadership Conference will be hosted in Oklahoma City on May 21st – 23rd. The “Energy Capital of America”, the event promises to be one of the largest attending political events of the year and will end with a 2016 Presidential Straw Poll. Dozens of invites to governors, congressional leaders and other Republican luminaries have been extended, and additional confirmations are expected in the coming days and weeks.
