Oklahoma’s two biggest electrical utilities showed significant improvements among residential customers in the latest J.D. Power study released this week.
Oklahoma City-based OG&E topped the south region’s large segment rankings. OG&E scored a 710 out of a possible 1,000, topping second-place Alabama Power by three points.
Tulsa-based AEP-PSO finished lower within the south region’s midsize segment but right at the sector average. American Electric Power-Public Service Co. of Oklahoma scored 684 points, placing it 20th in the group of 34 southern utilities.
Company spokesman Stan Whiteford pointed out that AEP-PSO’s score was its highest ever rating in the year-end version of the J.D. Power survey. The Tulsa-based utility’s score was 16 points higher than the overall industry average and 35 points above last year’s score of 649, he added.
