Mark Lawson Announces He will Seek State House 30
Sapulpa, OK – A civic leader and community servant, Mark Lawson announced today he will be a conservative Republican candidate for state representative in District 30. He’s seeking to replace Rep. Mark McCullough, who recently announced he isn’t seeking re-election.
“As a fifth generation Sapulpan, I not only understand the strong conservative values that are the backbone of our community, I share them and live them every day,” Lawson said. “That’s why I have dedicated my career to helping others, serving our community and ensuring a better future.”
Senate Pro-tempore Brian Bingman, who is term-limited this year, said he supports Lawson’s candidacy.“Mark has the heart to serve Creek County well, and has proven his commitment to the community,” Bingman said. “We need young professionals like Mark to step forward as leaders for our state.”
A graduate of Sapulpa High School and Oklahoma State University, Lawson has been a dedicated community volunteer. He served as vice chairman of the Youth Services of Creek County and is a child advocate with the Creek County CASA organization. He was vice chairman of the Sapulpa Metro Area Planning Commission. He also was the 2015 recipient of the “Community Service Award” from Sapulpa Board of Education in recognition of outstanding contributions to Sapulpa Public Schools.
“I care about the future of our region, and I aim to continue to represent the conservative principles that shape our community,” said Lawson, who has served as a state committeeman for the Creek County Republican Party. “I will provide the leadership necessary to defend and strengthen our families and our future.”
Lawson, 35, works in marketing and public relations at American Heritage Bank.
