Bynum Taps Former Inhofe Staffer To Lead Campaign Team

TULSA – Today, G.T. Bynum, candidate for Mayor of Tulsa, announced the hiring of Michael Junk as campaign manager.

“I’m excited to have Michael leading our team,” said Bynum. “His invaluable experience as a top staffer with both Senators Coburn and Inhofe make him a critical asset to our campaign. Michael’s network and his knowledge of issues affecting our region will be an essential component of our efforts to unify and build a better Tulsa.”

Michael Junk is a Tulsa native and graduate of the University of Oklahoma. Junk currently serves as State Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator James Inhofe. Junk officially joins the Bynum campaign on January 25th. Prior to his service with Inhofe, Junk worked for U.S. Senator Tom Coburn, MD in Washington, D.C.

“It is essential to have the right leadership in city government to ensure the region’s future success,” Junk said. “I am excited to be part of G.T.’s team. He embodies the qualities and passion required to lead Tulsa. I look forward to working with G.T. to ensure our shared vision for the city becomes a reality.”

Michael Junk was appointed to the Governor’s Oklahoma F-35 Task Force in 2015. He is a member of First United Methodist Church in Tulsa and serves on the Church Council.

Michael and his wife Kathryn have two children. They reside within the city of Tulsa.
