Fallin Poised To Sign Sales Tax Hike
Internet tax bill goes to Oklahoma governor’s desk

The Oklahoma House gave final legislative passage Thursday to a bill that seeks to generate more sales tax revenue from online purchases.
House Bill 2531, which passed 70-18, now will be considered by Gov. Mary Fallin.
Under the bill, the state would ask out-of-state companies to voluntarily charge state sales tax to Oklahoma customers.
Companies would also be asked to send yearly statements to these people, telling them how much they spent and reminding them they may need to pay state taxes on that amount. The state Tax Commission will not get a copy.
