Lamb Builds Sizable Fundraising Lead In Governor’s Race
Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb builds large financial lead in race for Oklahoma governor

Republican Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb, in his quest to succeed Gov. Mary Fallin, has built a large financial advantage that the other 11 candidates in the race may find difficult to overcome, even with the first primaries more than 11 months away.
Lamb had just under $2 million in the bank at the end of the quarterly filing period that ended June 30, according to reports submitted to the Oklahoma Ethics Commission in the past few days.
Closest to Lamb was Democrat Drew Edmondson, with $256,000 in cash. The nearest Republican was Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett, with $178,000.
Lamb, regarded as a gubernatorial candidate throughout his two terms in the No. 2 spot, was able to transfer a little over $1 million from his lieutenant governor’s campaign fund and raised a similar amount from April 1 to June 30. He has nailed down support from the oil and gas, health care and insurance sectors, which in recent years have been among the largest funders of Oklahoma politics.
