Businessman Kevin Hern continues to build a huge financial advantage over his 1st Congressional District opponents, according to reports filed this week with the Federal Election Commission.

Hern raised $91,376 during the third quarter of 2017 and almost $360,000 all told. That figure does not include the $500,000 of his own money that Hern has put into the campaign.

Hern’s campaign reported total expenditures of almost $380,000.

The other four announced candidates for the 1st District Republican nomination — Pastor Danny Stockstill, state Sen. Nathan Dahm, former District Attorney Tim Harris and former serviceman Andy Coleman — lag considerably in the money race.

Of the four, Coleman had the best third quarter, taking in a little over $40,000. A former military intelligence officer who has worked with oppressed groups in the Middle East, Coleman has raised a total of about $115,000, all but $2,000 of it from individuals.
