Inhofe Recognized for Service
Sen. Jim Inhofe wins Air Force Academy award
From Staff Reports
U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe has won a new Air Force Academy award that highlights character and leadership in public service.
Inhofe, R-Tulsa, became the first recipient of the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Character and Leadership Award last month as the academy wrapped up its National Character and Leadership Symposium.
Inhofe, who served in the Army from 1957 to 1958, is the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
He also is an accomplished pilot who has logged more than 15,000 flight hours. In 1991, he flew around the world, much as famed aviator Wiley Post did in the 1930s.
