Gov. Mary Fallin plans to release emails requested by the Tulsa World and other media outlets related to her decision to reject federal Medicaid funding, her office said Thursday.
Rebecca Frazier, Fallin’s deputy general counsel, said Thursday that Fallin’s office was providing emails and other documents requested by the World related to the Affordable Care Act. Frazier said the records would be provided Friday and declined additional comment.
The World and other media outlets requested emails from Fallin’s office regarding her decision to reject federal grant funds to create a health insurance exchange and federal funds to expand the state’s Medicaid program. The World’s request was made in December.
Fallin’s office rejected a separate request by the World for emails related to an official hired by the Department of Public Safety. Her office also withheld emails requested by the World related to implementation of a prison reform law.
