The campaign signs are going up. The television ads are airing.
And so the fun begins.
Mayor Dewey Bartlett, whose re-election bid rests on a message of continuing economic and public safety success, will spar over the next two months with former Mayor Kathy Taylor, who bills herself as a strong leader who has proven she can get results, and former City Councilor Bill Christiansen, the self-proclaimed “alternative” candidate.
The race’s three leaders will rush to deliver their messages before the June 11 nonpartisan primary election, when a sole majority for one candidate would end the contest without a need for the Nov. 12 general election.
So voters better pay attention.
