National Energy Policy Institute’s plan called practical, politically viable

What sets the energy policy presented by the National Energy Policy Institute apart is not only its cumulative effectiveness but its ability to be implemented with current technologies and be politically viable, the report’s authors said Thursday.

“This is an energy policy that could be adopted and is not pie in the sky,” said Charles Wohlforth, who wrote the text of the NEPI report.

He and several other researchers delivered the report, “Building America’s Energy Future: A Portfolio of Promising Policies,” during the NEPI conference Thursday at the University of Tulsa.

NEPI President and former Alaska Gov. Tony Knowles welcomed attendees from academia and the energy industry in the morning, telling them the report presents a comprehensive path to achieve more energy independence while lowering carbon emissions and other pollutants.
