Mayor candidates Jerry Branch, Lawrence Kirkpatrick aren’t well known but are determined

Two candidates in this year’s mayoral election will not be invited to the big debates and will not be spending huge sums of money getting their messages out.
And although that might qualify Jerry Branch and Lawrence Kirkpatrick as fringe candidates in some people’s minds, it has not chipped away at their resolve.
Branch, 49, is making his first run at public office. He is a supervisor with Heater Fabricators of Tulsa.
“I think we need to do things in the light that if they are good for Tulsans, it will be good for Tulsa,” Branch said. “I think we’ve done it in reverse for too many years. We’ve tried to do things leaders thought were a good idea and then tried to make it square with Tulsans.”
