Former Mayor Kathy Taylor has sent out more than 10,000 partially completed applications for absentee ballots to likely voters, a campaign spokeswoman said Monday morning.
“With the new form of (nonpartisan elections) and the new date, there are a lot of people who are going to be out of town on vacation,” Anna America said. “We are trying to make it as easy as possible for as many people as possible to vote.”
Shelly Boggs, assistant secretary of the Tulsa County Election Board, said Monday that the mailings are not illegal and have been employed by other candidates in previous elections.
Boggs said the Election Board has received a few calls from residents questioning how their personal information, including dates of birth, got on the absentee ballot applications.
