Inhofe: Pruitt, Oklahoma Leading Battle to Dismantle ObamaCare
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) today praised Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt for his testimony before the House Subcommittee on Energy Policy, Health Care and Entitlements chaired by Rep. James Lankford (R-OK-5):
“Attorney General Scott Pruitt is leading the battle to prove the Obama Administration’s disregard for the law and expose the dysfunction of ObamaCare. The health care law crafted by Congressional Democrats and the President provided states with the authority to choose whether to establish a state exchange without any penalty for large employers. When it came time to actually implement the law, the Internal Revenue Service decided to override Congress on this provision and take matters into their own hands by punishing job-creators in the 34 states without exchanges. The Obama Administration is just sitting back allowing this to take place. Our Oklahoma businesses are now dealing with new tax hikes and regulations that are unlawful and are a disincentive to growth and innovation. Thanks to the diligent work of Pruitt, Oklahoma is leading the charge to dismantle ObamaCare and put an end to its onerous taxes. I appreciate Congressman Lankford for bringing Pruitt forward to testify before Congress today so Members can see just how impractical this legislation is and for Americans to know the fight to defeat it is not yet over.”
