A town hall meeting Thursday quickly got heated when several attendees brought up the issue of healthcare, specifically the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, commonly referred to as “ObamaCare.”
Congressman Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) held the meeting at the Wagon Wheel Express in Muldrow Thursday morning as part of a series of town hall meetings held throughout 26 counties of the Second District this month. Mullin said the meetings are an effort to hear from his constituents and their concerns as well as answer some questions.
Attendees on both sides of this issue were present, including veteran Jack Frays, who brought up the issue of veteran healthcare and ask the Congressman his views on it.
Mullin said he believed the VA gets “excellent care given the resources they have,” when Frays asked how he felt the level of healthcare veterans and active duty military were receiving, adding that there is always room for improvement and that active duty military “probably don’t get the level of healthcare they should get.”
