Bartlett Responds To Taylor Attack Mail
For Immediate Release, October 18th, 2013
Kathy Taylor Attacks Dewey for Playing Harmonica! Really?
“Kathy Taylor has spent the last few months attacking my every action.” Mayor Dewey Bartlett said.
“However her latest mailer is by far the most absurd. Kathy Taylor claims playing the harmonica and my campaign putting out yard signs is damaging public safety. I am still scratching my head trying to figure out her very desperate attack.
“Taylor’s negative campaign has gotten pretty confusing lately, but the one thing that is crystal clear is she is hiding from the truth” Bartlett added.
“The truth is her reckless spending weakened Tulsa’s public safety. The truth is Kathy Taylor cared more about spending $141 million dollars over 30 years to purchase a fancy glass house instead of putting more police officers on the streets. The truth is Kathy Taylor drained our reserves to dangerously low levels and left Tulsa hanging unprepared for an emergency.”
“I hope over the next few weeks we can talk about substantive public safety policies .. and then after the election, I will gladly serenade Tulsans on my harmonica and hopefully Kathy Taylor will be able to relax,” Bartlett said.
“Her attacks are indeed comical, but her disregard for serious public safety issues are certainly not very funny. “I am very proud of the beat system we’ve implemented and how it has helped us to reduce crime and get criminals off our streets” Bartlett said. “Taylor’s policing strategy is just more liberal social engineering that turns our police officers into social workers.”
“If Kathy wants to keep singing the blues about Tulsa, I’ll gladly lend her my harmonica. Tulsans remember Taylor’s failure. They know the truth; our community is headed in the right direction.”

Mr. Bartlett would like to make a race about someone else’s spending, then he doesn ‘t need to be held accountable. It’s easy to hurl wild accusations & wave the scary liberal flag. Mr. Christiansen could not support Mr. Bartlett because of his record high budget demands, requests for permanent tax increase & lack of vision. It is going to take more than good old boy cronyism to bring today’s Tulsa into the future. I want to see more than a whine. It takes a lot more hours on a job than part time to offer full answers. We have current budget issue, & a city manager who does not know. I do not care about harmonica playing. I want better. .
