Lankford: More People Ate Sonic In OKC Today Than Signed Up For ObamaCare
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 13, 2013
Lankford: More people had lunch at Sonic in OKC today than have signed up for Obamacare in OK in a month and a half
Washington, DC – Representative James Lankford (R-OK) released the following statement after the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Studies (CMS) provided the Obamacare enrollment numbers since October 1, 2013:
“The numbers the Administration released today are troubling. Only 346 Oklahomans were able to navigate the website and choose a health insurance plan on the federal exchange in drastic contrast to the tens of thousands of individuals and companies in our state that have received cancellation notices on plans they liked and wanted to keep. More people drove through my local Sonic in Oklahoma City today at lunch than have signed up for Obamacare in Oklahoma since October 1.
“The net effect of this law is clear – millions of individuals and families nationwide are losing their current healthcare coverage – and for what? So that a few thousand can run the gauntlet of a broken federal website in the hopes of gaining or regaining their coverage. As the January 1 deadline quickly approaches, these numbers show that Obamacare has led to more uninsured Americans and only a small number who have been able to sign up for or choose a healthcare plan through the exchanges.”
