Tulsa County District Attorney Tim Harris said late Monday that he will not seek re-election in 2014.
First elected in 1998, Harris is in his fourth term.
“After much prayer and reflection I have decided not to run for another four-year term as Tulsa County district attorney, therefore my term will end Dec 31, 2014,” said Harris, a Republican. “It has been a challenging and gratifying experience to represent the people of Tulsa County over the last 27 years as a prosecutor and 15 years as your elected DA.”
Harris said he is “putting together an exploratory team to assist me in vetting my future opportunities in public service, law, business, education and ministry.”
