Obama’s ACA rules changes baffle insurers

A policy switch by the White House last week involving Affordable Care Act rules for insurance policies throws a curve ball to insurers in Oklahoma, officials say.
Richard Todd, CEO of CommunityCare, said the decision by President Barack Obama to allow the continued sale of policies that do not comply with the law “certainly alters all of the planning and analysis that we’ve done to date.”
CommunityCare is one of five insurance companies offering policies under the law.
“It changes what we thought would be a single risk pool with a defined set of benefits into one that will now be splintered into multiple pools,” Todd said.
