The Okie: One Year Anniversary

Okies,

Today we celebrate the one year anniversary of our launch. It’s been a great year for politics in Oklahoma and 2014 is going to be the most exciting in decades.

In politics, numbers and results are what matter. So we thought we’d brag a bit about our growth in the last 12 months.

A big thank you to the 78,000+ unique visitors to view The Okie in the last year. Close to 4,000 of you have liked our Facebook page, by far the leader among Oklahoma political social media pages.

Earlier this year, the Washington Post ‘The Fix’ Blog named us the top political news site in Oklahoma and we’re very proud of that. We are the place to see what the campaigns and candidates are doing, with smart and insightful analysis about what impact it has on their race.

By our estimation, our close to 100,000 of you have visited The Okie in the last 12 months and we’re blown away by your interest, opinions and support. When we set out on this journey, we wanted to create a website devoted to OKlahoma politics that used every electronic medium available to us — and we’re so pleased with what The Okie has become.

As we said, 2014 promises to be the biggest year in Oklahoma politics in decades and The Okie will be here to cover every campaign, every development and all the fun stuff that we love to watch. We’ve got great plans for the site in the next few months and are very excited about the future.

Thanks for the support!
