Airline Merger Praised Locally
Community leaders rally behind American Airlines merger

Reminiscent of a meeting held 15 months ago just after American Airlines filed for bankruptcy, Tulsa business and government leaders gathered Friday to express support again, this time for company’s merger with US Airways.
“We think this is outstanding economic news for our community,” said Mike Neal, president and CEO of the Tulsa Regional Chamber.
Leaders from Tulsa, Owasso, Tulsa County and others met with business representatives, including American Airlines vice president of maintenance Bill Collins, to praise the move and offer support during the merger process and months ahead.
