OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — According to his attorney, State Senator Ralph Shortey is set to resign by mid-week.
The United States Secret Service has joined the investigation into State Senator Ralph Shortey, R-Oklahoma City. Shortey was arrested after turning himself in last week on three charges related to child prostitution.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation also confirmed that agents served a search warrant on Shortey’s residence late last week. The FBI said it cannot comment on what all was seized or the scope of its investigation into the senator.
The U.S. Secret Service, known for its protection of the president and counterfeiting investigations, also has a cyber-crimes division according to its website. The Oklahoma City field office of the Secret Service told FOX 25 it has an ongoing relationship with the Moore Police Department and is assisting in the Shortey investigation in a limited capacity.
