Mayor Dewey Bartlett’s election campaign is offering to help supporters clean up debris from Tuesday’s overnight storms, but Bartlett says no city resources will be used in the effort.
“It’s just a volunteer deal that (Campaign Manager Dan Patten) had come up with,” Bartlett said.
“Nothing improper. Just some very nice people who wanted to volunteer to help the community.”
A flyer emailed to supporters Wednesday morning says that “the city is working around the clock to restore power and clear debris” and, in a separate paragraph, offers to “send someone out” if supporters ask Patten for “assistance clearing any minor debris for you, your family members, or a neighbor.”
