Bartlett reports $248,000 in campaign funds raised during runoff election period

Mayor Dewey Bartlett’s re-election campaign raised $247,601 between May 28 and July 29, bringing his total contributions to $724,456, according to a campaign finance report filed this week.

The report covers the period that would have corresponded to a runoff election following the June 11 mayoral primary, had such a runoff been needed.

Municipal candidates are required to file such reports before every election, so filing for the runoff period appears to have been optional, Ethics Commission officials said.

Former Mayor Kathy Taylor, who advanced with Bartlett to the Nov. 12 general election after defeating former City Councilor Bill Christiansen in the June 11 nonpartisan primary, did not file a report.
