Bernie Sanders organizational meetings draw about 150 in Tulsa

Bernie Sanders is not the name that comes to mind as the candidate most likely to have the first good-sized Tulsa rally of the 2016 presidential campaign.
But then, unexpected has been the norm for Sanders’ quixotic quest for the White House.
About 150 people turned up at the Transport Workers Union hall in far northeast Tulsa on Wednesday night for what the Sanders’ camp called the largest organizing event of the year, a national video conference involving more than 3,000 sites and 100,000 participants.
While the 150 or so who gathered at the TWU hall was not quite the 200 who signed up online, it was still believed to be the largest Sanders meeting in the state. Two smaller meetings in Tulsa were expected to attract up to three dozen more supporters.
