First District Rep. Jim Bridenstine said Friday that he supports a revamped guest worker program and that a “robust” legal immigration system is the key to controlling the country’s borders.
“If we had that, it would take the pressure of the border,” Bridenstine told Tulsa’s Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
“We have to have a secure border on the south side of the United States because of the contraband,” he said. “I’m not just talking about the cocaine that’s coming across our border. I’m also talking about the slave trade. We have young girls who are being trafficked across the border against their will.”
