No takers for Tulsa mayoral candidate pledges

Tulsa’s mayoral candidates have either refused or apparently aren’t in a hurry to sign the campaign pledges their opponents have publicly demanded of them.
Mayor Dewey Bartlett’s campaign is asking challengers to commit to remaining in office for the entire three-year mayoral term if elected, citing a rumor that former Mayor Kathy Taylor plans to run for Jim Inhofe’s U.S. Senate seat next year.
Taylor, who denies the rumor, asked opponents to pledge against using political robocalls after an automated push-poll from former City Councilor Bill Christiansen criticized her handling of the city’s 2008 Great Plains Airlines lawsuit settlement.
The campaigns say their opponents have not returned documents they have sent them to sign, and the explanations are either intentional or innocent.
