The first piece of a massive project to repair and refurbish the nearly century-old state Capitol is done.
A total of 36,000 square feet of legislative staff space on the first and third floors has been improved at a cost of $7.2 million, said Trait Thompson, project manager.
“We’ve been working very, very hard to ensure we could turn this space in time for the start of the legislative session,” Thompson said.
Staff members began moving in on Friday. The session begins next month.
