Christiansen Picks Up AFSCME Union Endorsement
Big Endorsement for Christiansen AFSCME endorses Mayorial Candidate
With the Mayor’s race building steam and the June 11th primary rapidly approaching, candidate Bill Christiansen has received a critical endorsement. A spokesperson for AFSCME said, “As former Tulsa Councilman, Christiansen’s record speaks for itself. He has always shown Tulsa’s municipal workforce and their representatives the utmost respect – a far cry from the two previous administrations. He has always listened to us.”
Being a small businessman, Christiansen recognizes the value that a healthy and efficient municipal workforce contributes to the local business community. After all, public servants are tax-payers and patrons of the local business community too. As the candidate for all of Tulsa, he believes that it is possible to ensure safety and efficiency in a mutually prosperous relationship between tax-payers and public servants. When asked directly about the AFSCME endorsement, Christian responded, “Everyone is tired of business as usual in Tulsa, including the municipal workforce. Special interests are not my concern. My only interest is working to ensure that our city is run fairly, openly, and that our citizens, municipal workers and tax-payers, are able to prosper when they take initiative and work hard.”
