Cole: Budget Negotiations To Steal Spotlight This Fall
Tom Cole says Congressional compromise hard to achieve

Congressional compromises achieved this summer will be harder to come by in the fall, U.S. Rep. Tom Cole told Norman Chamber of Commerce members Monday.
Speaking at the chamber’s monthly board meeting, Cole said budget negotiations will turn “ugly” in the fall. Pressing issues like immigration reform will take a back seat to fiscal negotiations.
“It will be a very rocky September until the end of the year,” Cole said.
He said threats to shut down federal spending to derail the federal Affordable Care Act are unwise. He said Congress has already made changes to the act, resulting in significant savings.
