Doerflinger Forecasting Smaller Than Anticipated Budget
Doerflinger: State budget to be $171 million less for FY2015

OKLAHOMA CITY - Gov. Mary Fallin will have about $171 million less for her budget in the upcoming legislative session, Finance Secretary Preston Doerflinger said Tuesday.
Fallin will have nearly $7 billion for Oklahoma’s fiscal year 2015 budget. The figure represents a drop of 2.4 percent from the prior year.
Doerflinger said state agencies should expect flat or reduced budgets.
“No matter how you slice it, revenues are still down,” Doerfligner said. “The main causes of this are mostly non-economic. Gross collections are up, but revenues for appropriations are down because revenue policies are increasingly redirecting money away to dedicated sources instead of the general revenue fund.”
