Fallin Releases Previously Withheld Emails
Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin’s office releases e-mails previously withheld from media, public
FROM STAFF REPORTS
Gov. Mary Fallin’s office on Monday released roughly 100 pages of previously withheld emails and documents detailing internal discussions on the possible creation of a state health care exchange
The Oklahoman in November 2012 requested all emails relating to Fallin’s decision first to accept and then to reject $54 million from the federal government to set up a health care exchange, an online insurance marketplace under the Affordable Care Act.
In March 2013, Fallin’s office released 51,029 pages of documents in response to that request.
But Fallin representatives stated they would withhold 31 documents that fell under “executive privilege” or “attorney-client privilege.”
