Tulsa’s leading mayoral candidates said plenty about the most pressing local issues in their final candidate forum before Tuesday’s potentially decisive primary election.
But disagreements over which of them is the most “regular Joe” and who most supports national gun rights were fair game, too.
“I am truly the most average of the average men and women sitting up here today,” former City Councilor Bill Christiansen said Thursday in the televised Cox Communications forum hosted by Tulsa Community College’s Metro Campus.
The forum featured questions submitted by residents that, as co-moderator Clay Loney of KOKI Fox 23 pointed out, were sometimes more blunt than those in previous forums.
