Harry Reid Can’t Be Bothered To Talk About Sen. Coburn’s Cancer
From ChicksOnTheRight.com:
First, Harry Reid said that cancer patients were lying about existing. Then he said that the Koch brothers made up all those stories, because we all know how much Harry must’ve hated guys who were exactly like the Koch brothers in high school, so he’s carrying that grudge over into adulthood in a way that’s completely psychotic. Naturally. And then he said that y’all don’t know how to use the Internet. That was my favorite. But most recently, Harry went back to his ORIGINAL claim that cancer patients were lying about existing and all, and he said that he never said that. Because once again, Harry thinks you’re a moron, and he’s better than you.
Oh, Harry. You so crazy.
NOW, Harry just can’t be bothered to talk about cancer patients and their plight due to Obamacare – at all, because that’s just “getting into the weeds.” Case in point. Yesterday, Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), who is a cancer patient himself, “said that he’s concerned by the fact that Obamacare covers only a few cancer centers in the U.S.”
Coburn brought up the following:
“You had six million who lost their insurance, how many net new people got covered? How many who lost their insurance don’t have insurance today?” Coburn asked. “And is it affordable? … The ones that lost their insurance now have [Obamacare], and we don’t know what that number is. I guarantee you three-quarters of them are paying a significantly higher cost, have a higher co-pay and a higher deductible.”
Coburn also sounded the alarm on the law’s reported failure to cover cancer centers.
“Nineteen of the cancer centers in this country, only five are covered under Obamacare,” he said in an interview with the Washington Examiner.
Aaaaaaaand….Harry’s response?
“Dr. Coburn is very good at getting into the weeds and trying to find something that he thinks makes sense, but I think we need to look at the overall context of this bill,” Reid said Tuesday during a Senate press briefing. “It really brings a lot of people in from the cold so that they have the ability to get health insurance, which they’ve never had the opportunity [to do] before” Reid continued, touting the White House’s recent announcement that approximately 7 million Americans have signed up for health insurance coverage under Obamacare.
Interestingly enough, “In November 2013, Coburn made public that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. In 2011, he had prostate cancer surgery while also surviving colon cancer and melanoma. On January 28, 2014 on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” he announced that his health insurance under Obamacare doesn’t cover his oncologist and treatment, but said he is still receiving quality care. It was confirmed with POLITICO that since Coburn enrolled in Obamacare, “his coverage has been reduced and he lost coverage for his cancer specialist.” He decided he will pay out of pocket to receive his medical treatments from his oncologist.
Good thing that he can pay out of pocket for it, huh? If he was a regular shlep like you or me, and Obamacare cut him off, what would he do then?
I mean, I thought Obamacare was supposed to cover EVERYTHING?
