Inhofe Opponent Silverstein Raises $83K in 2Q

For a Democrat with no name recognition taking on an Oklahoma political institution, U.S. Senate candidate Matt Silverstein turned in a respectable total on his first campaign finance report.

Silverstein, a Bixby financial planner challenging Republican incumbent Jim Inhofe, took in $83,336 between his initial FEC filing on June 7 and the end of the second-quarter reporting deadline on June 30.

Of that, $15,600 came from close family members, but Silverstein also tapped Democratic stalwarts George Krumme and Bob Lemon for $5,200 each and received $500 from former Attorney General Drew Edmondson.
