Chairman Darrell Issa Endorses James Lankford

Immediate Release: Sunday, June 8, 2014

Oklahoma City, OK – Congressman James Lankford’s work fighting back against overreach by the Obama administration and persistently seeking transparency in government has won him the endorsement of Government Oversight and Reform Chairman Darrell Issa.

Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., released the following endorsement today:

“During my time as Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, I have had two strong partners when it comes to fighting for oversight and accountability: Tom Coburn and James Lankford,” Issa said. “I have worked closely with James for the past three and a half years and his diligence and relentless commitment to the truth have driven forward our Committee’s investigations that have exposed the actions of the Obama Administration. Oklahomans could not have a better champion fighting on their behalf to hold this government accountable than James Lankford. There is no better candidate to continue the oversight work of Dr. Coburn in the Senate than James Lankford.”

“I deeply respect Chairman Issa’s work and I am honored to have his endorsement,” Lankford said, “I have worked alongside Chairman Issa to hold this overreaching administration to account. Chairman Issa knows well the issues we face as a nation and I am honored that he has recognized me as the best candidate in this race to hold the federal government and President Obama accountable to the law.”

Issa and Lankford have been leaders in many major House investigations, including Fast and Furious, IRS targeting and Benghazi. Their persistent work has led to many major successes, like the shut down of IRS targeting, stopping elaborate taxpayer funded agency conventions, stopping the new Social Cost of Carbon regulation and exposing the double standard used in the botched operation Fast and Furious.
