Keith Jackson Makes Candidacy Official

Lawton—Today Lawton City Councilor Keith Jackson made his Republican candidacy for House District 64 official by filing with the Oklahoma State Election Board. House District 64 is a seat being vacated by term-limiting Representative Ann Coody.

Jackson’s Lawton roots run deep, having been born, raised and educated in Comanche county. Jackson is a small business owner and has also served on the Lawton City Council for 16 years.

As a husband, father and grandfather, Jackson says his priorities for the 64th District are shaped by his concern for the future of Oklahoma’s families.

“The answer to the challenges we currently face won’t be easy, and it won’t be simple,” said Jackson. “But I am committed to improving education and ending our teacher shortage, and I will work to encourage economic growth that generates new job opportunities in our community. That’s why we desperately need leaders who have proven their ability to balance a budget, as I have in my small business. And we need leaders who have proven their ability to work with others, as I have serving on the Lawton City Council.”

In spite of Oklahoma’s funding crisis, Jackson added that we cannot turn our back on our schools.

“Education is a vital investment in our state’s future, and we must find ways to ensure our teachers have the support they need and our students get the education they deserve,” added Jackson.

Jackson and his wife Alexandra make their home in Lawton, attend First Baptist Church East, and have three children: daughter Katy Jackson-Seeley is a counselor at MacArthur High School, married to Shawn Seeley, a Lawton firefighter, and they have two children, Lexy (5) and Jax (3); son Andy Jackson works at Advanced Auto Parts; daughter Kelly Jackson-Reavis is an LPN at Fort Sill, married to Craig Reavis who is also an LPN at Fort Sill, and they have two children, Ryan (10) and Reid (6).
