Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern’s husband, Steve, to run for state Senate
The Rev. Steve Kern, husband of Oklahoma state Rep. Sally Kern, R-Oklahoma City, says he will file next year for the Senate District 40 seat. If both Kerns win their races next year, they would be the second married couple to serve at the same time in Oklahoma’s Legislature.

The Rev. Steve Kern, husband of Rep. Sally Kern, R-Oklahoma City, announced Saturday he is seeking a state Senate seat in 2014.

Kern, 66, said he will file next year for the Senate District 40 seat held by Sen. Cliff Branan, R-Oklahoma City. Branan cannot seek another four-year term because of 12-year legislative term limits.
