McDugle Announces for the State House

COWETA –– Marine Corps Drill Instructor and entrepreneur Kevin McDugle will announce Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. that he will run as a Republican for state House District 12 in Wagoner County. U.S. Rep. Jim Bridenstine is scheduled to join him at the announcement event at the Ameircan Legion Post 266 in Coweta.

“As a U.S. Marine serving in combat, I literally put my life on the line to preserve freedom. Now that I’m a civilian, I feel I have a responsibility to do more than vote, give money or volunteer. Those are worthy tasks, but I am too passionate to sit on the sidelines,” McDugle said.

“I’m ready to step-up and lead, something the Marine Corps instilled in me long ago.”

McDugle enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps infantry in 1988, after completing two years of college at Northeastern Oklahoma State University. He remained in the military eight years, serving as an airborne forward observer and in several combat zones including Bosnia, Somalia and Saudi Arabia during the First Gulf War. In 1990, he was selected to serve as a drill instructor at Parris Island, SC.

Following an honorable discharge, McDugle spent two years serving in the Oklahoma National Guard and completed his college education, earning a bachelor’s degree from Southern Nazarene University and an MBA from University of Phoenix.

“Like many veterans and business people, I’m a Constitutional conservative,” McDugle said. “I believe we must put our state on better financial footing and become self-sustaining, so we aren’t hog-tied by federal funding and mandates.”

McDugle is a successful entrepreneur who serves as founder, president and chief executive officer of two marketing firms. One of the companies, eXpect3 Marketing, produces several television shows in the local market and beyond.

“I have leadership experience in many different arenas. Primarily, the military taught me about leading by example, but I’ve also been a leader in business, within my family and in the community,” McDugle said.

McDugle said faith is an important part of his identity.

“I believe our Constitution was based on Biblical values, and those are the values that guide and shape my life and decisions,” he said.

McDugle and his wife, Tosha, have five children, three who are grown and two young children who live in the home. Eight-year-old Kaje and seven-year-old Kael are biological brothers who the McDugles adopted after serving as foster parents through the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. The family attends Church on the Move in Tulsa.

Born and raised on a small farm in Morrison, McDugle is a 1985 graduate of Cleveland High School.
