Beat Texas: Lamb To Host Young Professionals Conference Next Week
LT. GOVERNOR TODD LAMB TO HOST YOUNG PROFESSIONALS CONFERENCE IN OKLAHOMA CITY
October 7 conference to connect young professionals to experts in their industry
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (September 28, 2015) – Lt. Governor Todd Lamb will host the on the Devon Tower’s 50th floor on Wednesday, October 7 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This conference will bring together young professionals from the state of Oklahoma, providing them an opportunity to engage and connect with other young leaders as well as Oklahoma industry frontrunners. The conference’s theme, “Beat Texas”, will focus on and highlight the entrepreneurial greats of Oklahoma.
“Keeping our next generation home is paramount to growing our economy,” Lt. Governor Todd Lamb said. “Young professionals are important to our present and future.”
The Lt. Governor will give opening and closing remarks while Dana Weber, president of Webco Industries, will headline the conference as the keynote speaker.
Dana Weber was appointed chief executive officer of Webco Industries in March 2011. She has been President of the company since June 1998 and has been with Webco full-time in various positions since 1977. Webco, an international business based in Sand Springs, Okla., is a manufacturer and distributor of high-quality carbon steel, stainless steel and tubing products.
Weber graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Juris Doctorate. She is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development. Weber is active in the Tulsa Metro Chamber, The State Chamber of Oklahoma, Tulsa’s Young Professionals and many other civic organizations.
The Lt. Governor’s Young Professionals Conference will also include four speaker panels:
- “Food & Community”- Panelists will include Katie Morgan, co-owner & operator of Katiebug’s Shaved Ice, Brian Bergman, organizer of H & 8th and Mike Thornbrugh, manager of public & government affairs for QuikTrip. Attendees will find out how food trucks and festivals interact with customers via social media, how to increase fan base and build trust in their brand. Panelists will also discuss how Oklahoma politics impact the food and beverage industry.
- “Entertainment & Marketing”- Panelists will include Jeff Ewing, president of Energy FC, Rob Gardenhire, vice president of marketing and digital media for the Tulsa Drillers and Scott Munz, vice president of marketing & public relations for the Oklahoma State Fair. Panelists will discuss how to reach the millennial market and how to approach corporate sponsorships. Attendees will also hear about the impact OKC’s sports franchises are having on the city and the state in general.
- “Leadership” – Panelists will include Ashley Kehl, senior consultant of Victory Enterprises, Matt Newman, director of business management of Covanta Energy and Bea Jai Webb, director of Whiz Kids. Attendees will get the chance to listen as leaders in their own fields share their stories of how to successfully lead a company, industry or organization, whether it be in politics, non-profit or energy.
- “Technology in Business”- Panelists will include Matt Scovil, CEO & co-founder of Medefy, Nathan Gilchrist, co-founder & COO of Medefy, James Vollbrecht, director of technology for FlyingTee and Travis Stephens, co-founder of Truck it OKC and useafireman.com. Panelists will discuss devices and apps that assist with starting a new business and work in day-to-day business procedures, the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) movement and how it’s impacting businesses.
