“Energy independence means greater security and a strong economy in our nation. As the President continues to push environmental policies that discourage energy growth, I will continue to advocate for all types of energy development. I am grateful to have these energy leaders on my team, and we will to work together on the best energy solutions for our state and our nation,” Lankford said.
“Oklahoma leads the nation in energy development and innovation. Oklahomans know best that advances in energy leads to good jobs and a vibrant economy,” Lankford concluded.
In 2013, Congressman Lankford worked on the House committee that pushed the administration to back down on ethanol mandates. As chairman of the Energy Policy subcommittee, Lankford is now leading the charge to repeal ethanol mandates entirely and expand the export of America’s Natural Gas. America has enough energy to meet the needs of our country, but federal regulators are waging war on almost any effort to support home-grown energy in the U.S. Not only is this yet another example of government intrusiveness in our economy, but it’s also an affront to our national security. Congressman Lankford continues to fight on the front lines in Washington to secure the future of American energy production and development.
Lankford is in his second term as US Congressman for Oklahoma’s Fifth District and announced in late January his candidacy in the race to replace retiring US Senator Tom Coburn.
