Lankford Responds To Negative Assertions
Rep. James Lankford responds to negative attacks

Fifth District Congressman James Lankford said Wednesday that the attacks on his U.S. Senate candidacy from some self-styled conservatives is “fascinating.”
“If you’re a Republican, that’s the way you run a straight-on negative campaign,” Lankford said following a speech to the Rotary Club of Tulsa.
On Monday, Lankford became the first and, to this point, only candidate to officially declare for the Senate seat being vacated at the end of the year by Tom Coburn.
Even though Lankford does not have a declared opponent, he does have opposition. Several conservative groups — including some that helped elect Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas two years ago — say Lankford’s approach of preferring modest victories to spectacular defeats is not acceptable.
