Local Campaign Finance Laws Get Gov’s Support
Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin signs bill to change local campaign finance reporting law
by Rick Green
A bill signed into law Monday by Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin sets up a new system for campaign finance reporting in local races.
The law has a new disclosure requirement for groups that make independent political expenditures to local races. These groups will be required to identify donors who contribute more than $50.
The law also sets the Ethics Commission as the body to enforce local campaign finance laws. This enforcement will be paid for with money raised from fees and fines.
