New 2nd District U.S. Rep. Markwayne Mullin owes more than $60,000 to his chief of staff’s former consulting firm, according to Mullin’s year-end Federal Election Commission report.
Karl Ahlgren, then a partner in AH Strategies, served as a principal adviser in Mullin’s successful bid to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Dan Boren. After the election, Ahlgren relinquished his position with AH to become Mullin’s chief of staff.
“As of Dec. 31, 2012, Karl Ahlgren is no longer a partner in AH Strategies, nor does he receive any compensation from AH Strategies,” said Trebor Worthen, another Mullin campaign consultant who replaced Ahlgren as a partner at AH.
