MAPS 3 Petition Deadline Approaching
Convention Center initiative deadline soon; Legislature could preempt minimum wage initiative

Signatures on initiative petitions seeking a vote on Oklahoma City’s MAPS 3 convention center are due Tuesday.
Those proposals call for a vote on whether the $252 million convention center should be dropped from MAPS 3 and whether the 1-cent MAPS 3 sales tax should be ended early.
Ward 2 Councilman Ed Shadid, who is leading the convention center initiative campaign, did not respond to a text message Wednesday morning.
The convention center petitions are among five initiatives being circulated this spring in the city.
