WASHINGTON — Two former governors and the state’s highest-ranking Democratic official are part of the Oklahoma campaign team announced Friday by presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Clinton, a former secretary of state and U.S. senator, easily won the Oklahoma Democratic primary when she ran for president in 2008, capturing about 55 percent of the vote.

The Oklahoma presidential primaries for 2016 are scheduled for March 1.

Former Govs. George Nigh and David Walters and their wives are among the supporters announced by Clinton, who also had much of the state’s Democratic establishment backing her 2008 run.

Senate Democratic leader John Sparks, of Norman, is also on the campaign leadership council, as are several state legislators. Democrats currently hold no statewide offices.
